Gary S. Tomack  D.D.S., F.A.G.D., P.C.

Dr. Gary S. Tomack first started observing the art of dentistry at age 7 at his father's oral surgery office, followed by further observation at his uncle's dental office. This initial introduction to dentistry led to what has become a dental career spanning more than three decades and counting.

Dr. Tomack graduated from Hofstra University in 1976, whereupon he immediately entered the Howard University College of Dentistry - graduating in 1980. He followed dental school with a two-year general practice residency at Harlem Hospital-Columbia University. After completing his residency, Dr. Tomack stayed on as an instructor and started the first bonding cosmetic residency training program in New York at that time. Soon after, he became the Chief of Cosmetic Dentistry at Harlem Hospital-Columbia University - a position he held for the next 28 years.

Dr. Tomack has been in practice in the Murray Hill area of Manhattan since 1983. He works extensively with patients that require full-mouth rehabilitation, utilizing various modalities such as lasers, implants, computer analysis, and digital x-rays and cosmetic imaging. Patients can view numerous before-and-after simulations before any work is done.

Dr. Tomack has extensive training in all phases of dentistry that helps him to diagnose an appropriate course of treatment for his patients. He focuses on Cosmetic, Restorative and Implant Dentistry but he has a team of dental specialists on board to facilitate all dental care.

Dr. Tomack takes great pride in maintaining the highest standards of care by regularly attending continuing dental education courses throughout the year. Attendance and completion of these courses allows Dr. Tomack to continue perfecting his skills in oral rehabilitation and patient care on a constant basis. He has been awarded Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry by completing a minimum of 500 hours of continuing education and a rigorous written examination, which has been part of his strong commitment to excellent care that has included more than 3000 hours of continuing education.

He believes in treating every patient with kindness and understanding and that your relationship with him and his staff should be one of mutual respect in a low key stress free environment that that caters to his patients needs and comfort.

Dr. Tomack is blessed with two great kids and a wonderful wife, Dr. Behrens, who practices with him and in her own practice in Mount Kisco, NY. His interests besides dentistry include a love of golf and spending time with his wife, children, and dog. He also enjoys lecturing to local study clubs and at Harlem Hospital-Columbia University on a regular basis.
