We know that some patients get more nervous than others at the mere sight of a needle and syringe. Dr. Tomack proudly uses the wand, a lightweight hand piece that looks like a pen, eliminating the discomfort you get from the injection.

The Wand helps us provide a more effective anesthetic delivery and the onset of anesthesia is often faster. You’re more comfortable throughout the procedure, and we may be able to use new techniques so you won’t experience the lingering numbness of your tongue, lips and face.

Easier on the Patient

Many patients believe that needle insertion is what causes discomfort during an injection, when in fact most of the discomfort is caused by the flow of the anesthetic. The Wand controlled flow rate results in an injection experience that has proven to be two to three times more comfortable than with a traditional syringe. This makes the dental experience more positive for the patient.

The computer provided a flow of anesthetic directly ahead of the needle. This creates a “pathway of anesthesia” so you hardly feel the needle at all.
